Collaboration with the Shark Bay community is central to the GAT Project. In 2022, the team tagged and released a tiger shark, “Boof,” from Ocean Park Aquarium after over two years in captivity. Comparing Boof’s movements with those of a wild shark offered insights into post-release behavior and informed best practices for ethical releases, strengthening public trust and promoting sustainability in the aquarium sector.
