The GAT team successfully satellite-tagged 11 dugongs (Dugong dugon) in Shark Bay. These tags provide detailed, long-term data on movement and habitat use, offering insights into dugong ecology and informing conservation strategies for this culturally significant, vulnerable species. The tracking data collected from dugongs will help understand their movement behaviour and habitat use within Shark Bay, particularly in relation to the seagrass meadows.
